 Winning Winter Woodcraft Sessions

Saturday 17th November 11:00 – 16:00

Falkirk, Ettrick Dochart Community Hall

Join with Woodies from across Scotland in a practical session full of ideas for fun indoor group night sessions to get us through the long dark Scottish winter.  This is an open event for all, members and non-members, with something for all age groups.

This event is being held in Falkirk to recognise and support our new members there.  This is a chance to share experiences with them – what was your most successful activity/session?  (And what would you actively avoid?!)

There will also be opportunities for all ages to contribute to future events.  Scottish gathering will take place in February 2019, Summer Camp is in July 2019 and we also want to support Scottish members to take part in Common Ground 2020 – an international camp ran by Woodcraft.  We need ideas, volunteers and enthusiasm to make all these things happen.

There will be a Gathering of the Smalls and a session for Venturers which will include initial planning for Vcamp 2019.

Feel free to join us at any of these meeting places (or somewhere in between)

  • 10am Glasgow Queen St Station or Edinburgh Waverley Station
  • 11am Falkirk High Station

We will be walking from Falkirk High Station to the community hall. This is less than two miles through Callander Wood and we will make journey sticks on the way.

Please bring a packed lunch, waterproofs and wear sturdy shoes or wellies.  For really young ones a change of clothes is always advisable.  The route is fairly pushchair/wheelchair friendly although it can get muddy if it is a wet day.

The try-out activities will include a cooking skills session.  Please also bring one soup or smoothie ingredient to add to the mix.

No need to book, just turn up on the day.  Travel expenses can be provided.
