Virtual Session - 1000 Origami Peace Cranes

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Event date:
28 May 2020 - 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Event location:

Join us for a creative workshop learning to fold paper peace cranes and hearing the story of Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who lived in Hiroshima when the atomic bomb was dropped there and folded paper cranes when she was in hospital.

Origami paper cranes have come to symbolise peace, and there is a legend that if you fold 1000 of them you can have a wish – we will be trying to fold enough to wish for world peace.
