Bushcraft Training courses at Biblins.

Throughout the 2019 season we will be running a series of progressive Bushcraft training weekends with Nic Wootton from Great Bear Bushcraft, a long standing Woodcraft Folk leader.

The aim will be to learn skills to be able to run safe, fun and creative bushcraft sessions with young people. Each of the weekends will be Saturday and Sunday with camping available at Biblns.

Sessions will run:

Saturday 10am - 5pm; lunch and evening meal will be provided and probably cooked over the fire.

Sunday 9am - 4pm; breakfast and lunch provided.

June 1st & 2nd

  • Success with friction fire lighting and how to pass these skills on to young people, Tinder, Char cloth and other fire lighting methods.
  • Techniques for building shelters in the woodland environment and a chance to sleep in them.
  • How to find and make safe water for drinking.
  • Plenty of opportunity for cooking over the fire.
