Arms Trade 101 and intersecting issues

We've launched #DreamBigAtHome!

Our new lockdown website has hundreds of activities and games to do at home, weekly challenges to try and a regular programme of live workshops and events online, as well as information on how our groups can operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Event date:
22 September 2020 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Event location:

The arms business has a devastating impact on human rights and security, and damages economic development. Large scale military procurement and arms exports only reinforce a militaristic approach to international problems. Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) works towards ending the global arms trade. Part of our approach increasingly includes interrogating how the arms trade is connected to other issues such as policing, borders and migration, climate justice, and struggles against racism, gender inequality, capitalism and colonialism.

In this session, find out more about these key issues and how organisations such as CAAT are disrupting militarism with CAAT’s Training & Events co-ordinator, Siana Bangura.

For Pioneers, Venturers, and DFs (10-21).
