How to manage behaviour at group nights
Controlling a group is best practiced, but suggested tips would include:
- Have an engaging programme, developed with input from the children and young people
- Variety of activities throughout the evening and wider term e.g. mixture of individual and group activities, games, outside play and discussions
- Ensure you have an appropriate adult-to-child ratio
- Include a snack break
- Balance the programme to enable young people to have space to play or socialise
Managing challenging behaviour is a module on all Woodcraft Folk training courses.
