Blue Skies Camp

You may have heard that this summer Woodcraft Folk tried something new – we mixed experienced leaders, young people interested in leading groups, and new groups of children and parents – all at Woodcraft Park Farm. If you’ve played Woodcraft Crumble, you’ll have an idea of what it was like. Our aim was to match up the young people who wanted to develop their skills with the people who already had those skills, plus the children who would enjoy the games run by the new young leaders as they practised what they’d learned.

The results are in! The votes for Woodcraft’s first postal election, the third Venturer Committee election have been collected, have been counted, double counted and the results are now here. Groups from across the movement have voted to elect this exciting new committee.

New guide to Workers' Co-ops launched

On Saturday 23rd June, co-operators at the annual Futures North conference at Sheffield Hallam University raised a toast and cut a giant cake, to launch the new edition of 'How to Set Up a Workers' Co-op'.

On 27th June 2012, The Leicestershire District held a family walk. Fifty one Woodies - Woodchips, Elfins, Pioneers, Venturers, DFs and Kinsfolk - came on a two hour stroll through Watermead Country Park on the North East edge of the city.

"Sheffield Woodcraft believes that all brick-kiln worker children should have the right to free education and urges Woodcraft Folk and IFM-SEI to support APFUTU's campaign for the provision of sustainable schools for all child labourers."

This is one of the conclusions of the delegation who travelled from Sheffield Woodcraft Folk to Pakistan to see the opening of a school for brick-kiln workers' children.
