Cambridge Pioneer sponsored trek for CamFed
Over the early May Bank Holiday weekend 29 Cambridge Pioneers took part in a sponsored walk in the Chiltern Hills to raise money for Camfed, a locally based charity that supports education for girls in some of the poorest countries in Africa [see camfed.org ]. The Pioneers were the originators of the plan; they carried all their own personal gear [sleeping bags, mats, water, clothes, etc], they put the tents up each night and took them down each morning, loaded the van, cooked and washed up, remained thoroughly cheerful throughout - and walked over 25 miles!
