penwythnos Co-op Op weekend

Thursday, 24 July 2014

Ganwyd 3 menter gydweithredol ar benwythnos CO-OP OP ar Orffennaf y 6ed:

  • ‘Gwyliau Gwyrdd’ yw’r cyntaf, hostel ym mynyddoedd Gogledd Cymru a fyddai’n hunan gynhaliol ac yn cynnig gweithgareddau awyr agored
  • mae ‘Shampoodle’ yn fenter i gynhyrchu siampŵ lle fydd yr elw yn mynd at elusen sy’n darparu cŵn fel gweithgaredd therapiwtig i bobl mewn cartrefi henoed
  • ‘Relephant’ yw’r trydydd, bwyty rhyngwladol gyda siop lyfrau ac ysgol goginio a fydd yn paratoi bwyd ar gyfer mentrau cydweithredol eraill yn y cylch

Daeth pobl ifanc at ei gilydd o Rhyl, Glyn Ebwy, Penarth, Tywyn a Machynlleth i ddysgu am hanes y mudiad cydweithredol, ei werthoedd, ei wahanol drefniadau. Trwy weithio mewn timau, dysgant sut i gydweithio, gwrando ar ei gilydd a chreu menter trwy ddefnyddio sgiliau ei gilydd.

Co-op Op’s residential on 6th July 2014 gave birth to 3 brand new co-operatives

  • ‘Green Getaways’ was the first, a hostel in the North Wales mountains that will be self-sufficient and is offering all sorts of outdoor activities
  • ‘Shampoodle’, a co-operative enterprise producing and selling shampoo where a portion of the profit will be going to provide dogs as theraputic company in old people’s homes
  • and finally ‘Relephant’ an internationally inspired co-operative restaurant and book store offering educational cookery courses and preparing food for other co-operatives in the area

Young people came together from Rhyl, Ebbw Vale, Penarth, Tywyn and Machynlleth to learn about the history of the co-operative movement, its values and its different structures. By working in teams they learnt to work co-operatively, listening to each other and making the most of each other’s skills to create their own co-operatives. All this took place at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth.
