It's Remember a Charity Week

Friday, 8 September 2017

This year, Remember A Charity Week (11-17 September) will call on the public to ‘Have Your Say on the World You Want to Pass On’, inspiring people to leave a gift in their Will. The Remember a Charity website contains details of the roadshows being held in 5 cities across the UK during the week and has plenty of useful information about how to write a will.

Since setting up our own simple guide last year that explains the different ways people can remember Woodcraft Folk in their will, woodcraft.org.uk/leaving-legacy-woodcraft-folk, we have seen an increase in interest in this type of giving.

For over ninety years, Woodcraft Folk has been working with children and young people with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and social justice.

Jon Nott, General Secretary, explains,

‘As an organisation rooted in the co-operative movement, we are determined to communicate to younger generations a simple message: that co-operation rather than competition is the way to a better future.

Our organisation has been built on the voluntary efforts of many thousands of people, who have offered both their time and their money to help develop our work.

Now we are engaged in a major new development drive to ensure we have the resources to carry forward our message towards our 100th birthday in 2025. Remembering us in your will is one way you can help secure the future of Woodcraft Folk.'
