Woodcraft Folk's achievements towards the Big Plan

Below is a summary of the achievements Woodcraft Folk has made as part of our work on the Big Plan, our organisational strategy for 2008 - 2013. This PDF includes work by a range of different Woodcraft groups, committees and teams, towards a range of Big Plan ambitions. It was displayed at Annual Gathering 2013 in celebration.

Annual Gathering 2013

Annual Gathering is the democratic heart of the Woodcraft Folk, but it’s so much more than that. As well as celebrating our achievements over the past year & electing our General Council, we discuss future plans for the movement, share skills & experiences, and enjoy each other’s company in true Woodcraft style.

Development Conference

Bristol YHA

This year's second Development Conference is happening at the YHA in Bristol. It will be a chance for all Woodcraft members, whatever their age and role in Woodcraft Folk, to get together for socialising, workshops, discussions on current Woodcraft topics, and generally sharing ideas and friendship. 

Branch Structure

At the annual gathering in 2009 conference voted to become a Branch structure. The Annual Gathering 2012 addopted a new set of articles, new rules for all branches will come into effect on the 1st January 2013 and this is the date of transfer.

Development Conference

All members are welcome to attend and take part in Annual Gathering, but if you’d like to register as a delegate representing your district, please contact your district co-ordinator.

'Bored Meeting' training

Come and join young and older district, regional and national Woodcraft Folk committee representatives for an exciting weekend of FREE training and networking alongside Development Conference.

CoCamp

CoCamp will bring together children, young people, and adults from around the world, to live, work, and play as a dynamic co-operative community, sharing a common set of values.

CoCamp will enthuse young people about a co-operative way of life, empower them to act and involve them in ongoing activities. After the camp, members will continue to use the principles, skills and experiences they have gained in their own communities, and to build a peaceful and sustainable future.

Strategic partnership with Scottish Government

Woodcraft Folk is pleased to announce that we are one of 45 third sector organisations receiving a funding boost from the Scottish Government to enhance or develop work focussed on supporting the needs of young people and their families.

The Strategic Partnership Funding of £10 million across 45 organisations will strengthen the work of young people’s organisations working across Scotland, in areas such as adoption, vulnerable families, child health, literacy, bereavement counselling and parental support.
