"Dear Woodcraft Folk
I would like to officially introduce EWB-UK to Woodcraft, as we believe there may be many opportunities for collaboration.
Many people this week will be celebrating the parliamentary vote to legalise same sex marriage. This is certainly a welcome step in ensuring LGBT people have the same rights as anyone else in society, however, let us not forget that homophobia and transphobia continue to exist, and that despite parliamentary changes in law, there is still much work to be done until we achieve full liberation for LGBT people.
Studies in transition and youth leadership – how Woodcraft Folk Districts support young people to move through the age groups and take on leadership roles as they develop.
This year promises to be an exciting one for the Glasgow Southside Woodcraft Folk groups. A new Pioneer group is starting this term for ten to twelve year olds and as a result for the first time ever children of all ages will be able to come to Woodcraft Folk activities in the Southside of Glasgow. In previous years there was just one group in the area and for the last couple of years, an Elfin (6-9’s) and a Venturer (13-16’s) group. It is great to be going into 2013 with 3 groups planned.
NEW GROUP STARTING IN 2013
A Pioneer group for children aged 10-12 in the Southside of Glasgow.
In the winter and spring term we meet in Shawlands United Reformer Church Hall and in the summer and autumn term in Queens Park. We meet from 5:30pm-6:45pm every Wednesday during term time. Cost per child is currently only £10 a term. This covers our venue, material and refreshments costs. All leaders are volunteers.
