Co-operatives Fortnight 2012
Co-operatives Fortnight is the co-operative sector’s national campaign, bringing together co-operatives up and down the country to highlight how co-operatives share their profits, give people an equal say and help build a better world.
- In 2011, over 290 events took place, reaching 4 million people
- In 2012, Co-operatives Fortnight will be a peak of activity during the International Year of Co-operatives
Starting with the launch of The UK Co-operative Economy 2012 – Co-operatives UK’s annual state of the sector report – and finishing on International Co-operatives Day on 7 July, it will be two weeks when organisations everywhere will be celebrating co-operation.
"With the co-operative sector getting so many people involved, both online and off, and generating so much positive media interest, this year was a real success.
"Thank you to the co-operative and mutual businesses that sponsored the activities and to the thousands of people across the UK who took part and made the two weeks such a success."
Ed Mayo, Secretary General of Co-operatives UK
